School Holiday Workshops for Kids & Teens
Sewing is a Life Skill that is important for your child. It’s an effective way to get your child off the iPad and TV and learn something interesting and fulfilling. Sewing is an inexpensive way to teach your child the joy of a creative hobby. And best of all – it’s fun!
People who didn’t think they could sew are now making beautiful outfits for themselves. Everybody can sew, it’s just a case of learning the basics and then practicing.
Sew Much Fun Sewing Class, Blockhouse Bay is having workshops during the summer holidays where students learn the basics of sewing in a simple, creative, and fun way, and complete a project to take home.
Dates: Mon 13, Tue 14, Wed 15,
Mon 20, Tue 21, Wed 22 Jan 2025
Time: 10am to 12.30 pm
Cost: $75 per workshop (includes fabric, tools, and all other items required).
Topics covered are:
Safety in the sewing room
The parts of a sewing machine
Winding a bobbin and threading a sewing machine
Using the presser foot
Sewing straight lines and pivoting
Different stitches and how to use them
Useful tools to have in your sewing kit
Make an item to take home
The classes are small with a maximum class size of four to ensure that your child gets individual attention.
